According to the board, this has been something that they have been discussing for weeks already. And they will be the 30th state to place the ban.

Technically, 12 of the 30 do not allow sports betting, so there is no change in regulation. But other states like Ohio, Maryland, and Vermont are all going to implement this restriction this year. So far, there are quite a lot of states that still offer prop bets, so it will not be totally be out. It is, however, going to be a waiting game from now, to the start of the NCAA new seasons to see if other state regulators that offer sports betting will follow Ohio.
