Horse Betting Guide

Most online gambling sites and sportsbooks have horse betting software. Online gambling is usually divided into three main betting options: sports betting, horse racing, and casino games, such as poker and live poker. And horse racing is one thing you can offer in your sportsbook. You’d be surprised at the money you can earn from this.

Horse racing, after all, is one of the oldest forms of gambling, and one of the first forms of gambling to be legalized. If you are not familiar with the basics of horse racing, here’s a little Horse Betting Tutorial.

Horse Betting Tutorial

horse racing tutorialHorse betting is split into two categories: exotic wagers and straight wagers. Straight wagers are the cheaper and simpler option for most bettors, and is the recommended wager for beginners. The wager is basically picking who will win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the race.

In a straight bet, you bet to Win, meaning your horse will come in first. If you bet to Place, this means your horse should come in either first or second. A Show wager is betting on your horse to come in first, second, or third. There’s also an Across the Board Bet, where you bet that your horse will win, place and show. You can also bet a win/place or place/show so you have multiple results in one wager.

Meanwhile, exotic wagers will let you place multiple bets on multiple horses in one single bet. This requires a bit more knowledge, a big more risk, but a bigger payout as well. For instance, you have an Exacta bet, which is where you bet on two horses to come in first and second in that specific order.

There is also a Quinella bet, where you are betting on two horses to come in first and second in any order. You can also go for a Trifecta, where you go for first, second, and third place in an exact order. A Superfecta is also a wager you can make. It’s exactly like a trifecta, but with four horses. Later on, we’ll go over betting tips, but for now, studying races and learning the betting options should get you started. If the options seem intimidating, just check on some gambling software reviews to see which ones have a great horseracing software.
