North Carolina Steps Closer to Sports Betting
Throughout the year, you’ve seen US states pop up in gambling industry news pages. As the sports betting industry grows, so does the need for regulation so that the government can get their share of the industry. But this isn’t an easy feat. Some states have legalized sports betting, but are not including online sports wagering. One state is moving closer to sports betting, but its a bit vague still.
Which is unfortunate, since online sports betting is a growing industry. This is why a lot of industry experts have been using the best pay per head bookie providers to run their own sportsbooks. You simply use the bookie software to manage your own lines and for players to place bets on, and you can enjoy earning an income from your own home.
Closer to Sports Betting
North Carolina, however, may be taking its time, but within reason. SB 574 was passed by the house, and will go back to the Senate, then on to the Governor’s office. This bill will create a gaming commission that will reassess gaming options in the state. It will effectively reorganize the current gaming organizations/oversight committees into one office.
This bill has new amendments from the House, which pertains to the scope and structure of the gaming commission. If the Senate concurs with these amendments, then the bill goes to Governor Roy Cooper’s office. There is also SB 154 waiting for voting. This bill is smaller-scaled, only allowing sports betting in the two tribal casinos in the state.
While both bills sound promising, nothing is set in stone yet. Technically, they are only voting for the framework to exist, but there are no terms and regulations for gambling, and which options will be available for the public. As this measure inches by, citizens can travel to nearby states to wager. Online options are abundant as well, although one must be discerning in choosing one. Some gambling software reviews can help sort the good from the bad.
