NBA Opening Week
Of course, LeBron playing against Kawhi was probably one of the most exciting games of the week. It was especially exciting because the Clippers, despite being underdogs, won the game against the Lakers in a game between the two Los Angeles-based teams. But other opening games were also making the news. Kyrie Irving, for instance, showed the Celtics what they were missing as he scored 50 points for the Brooklyn Nets. Irving set a new NBA record as having the highest points in a debut in a new team.
Kristaps Porzingis has not played an NBA game in almost 2 years, but the Mavericks gave him a $158 million, 50-year contract. His preseason performance was not that good, but his season opener was better than expected. He gave 23 points and 4 rebounds to help the Mavs win the game.
These are, of course, highlights from the first few games of the season. They are mostly from the top players of the league. There’s a lot more to watch out for in the coming months. Bookies have been getting ready for this since the crazy summer that has practically reshuffled the league.
